READING THE DATA
A few distinctions matter.
Compare like with like, and keep the limits of each geography in view.
Place is where a ballot was cast
A woonplaats groups station locations, not voters’ home addresses. Resident turnout is unavailable for woonplaatsen and stations; participation counts remain available.
Each election has its own electorate
Municipal turnout uses valid, blank and invalid ballots divided by eligible electors. Council and parliamentary elections have different eligibility rules.
Lists and stations can change
Joint party lists remain separate from their constituent parties. Station identifiers belong to one election and are not automatically matched across years.
Missing is different from zero
Mobile and unallocated stations remain visible. A place without a matched station has no isolated result. The GR26 source catalogue still labels its data preliminary.
